All the Threes Challenge

This year, ECHO is celebrating its 33rd Birthday. To mark the special occasion we are launching this fundraising challenge all about the number 3. All you have to do is think of a sponsorship idea which involves the number 3. Such as, walk 3 miles, swim 3 widths, stand on one leg for 3 minutes, hold an afternoon tea at 3.00pm, or give up something you love for 3 weeks, like chocolate!

We already have two events linked to the number 3, which are Nick Baker’s Cycling Challenge and Peter Beresford’s Run.

Nick’s All the Threes, Three Part Cycle

Nick Baker is doing the challenge of cycling 3 lots of 33 and a third miles in 3 different countries. he is lucky enough to be having two holidays abroad this year, so one ride will be Parga, Greece and the other in the mountains of Spain. The climate and terrain will make both these rides challenging!

For the UK leg, in a ride around North Herefordshire, Nick’s son Louis, an ECHO participant, is going to be tandem cycling with his dad. This will be the furthest Louis has ever cycled! Louis says, “I am excited about doing this ride because this is a longer distance for me than I’ve done before and I
like trying new challenges, particularly when it comes to events for ECHO”.

Accompanying them will be Chris Blum, one of ECHO’s Trustees. This will be on Sunday 30th July and the ride will end at Eaton Barn Community Gardens. Everyone is invited to a BBQ there to celebrate their safe arrival at 1.00pm.

Peter’s Running 3 Kilometres, 33 Times

Peter Beresford, of Leominster, will be running 3 kilometres 33 times in July, making a total of 99 kilometres. Peter said “Having worked with ECHO previously and seeing how impactful they are for the local community, I wanted to get involved with ECHO to raise awareness and support for a great local cause”. About Face Singing for All the Threes

And now, here’s an amazing challenge from About Face Theatre! This week, the whole project will be singing 33 songs over the week and you are invited to support the team by joining the Singathon and, of course, contributing to the fundraising. Across the various groups they have already raised over £650 in sponsorship, so let’s see how far we can push the figure up!
