Nick joined ECHO’s About Face in 2013. The Leominster based theatre project was on the doorstep, ideally placed for Nick. He initially attended the newly formed Thursday training group before moving into the Wednesday Group two years later when that was established.
Early observation records indicated several targets set for Nick, all of which remain relevant to the present day. In particular, across all the activities that Nick undertakes, a major target is to encourage better concentration.
Nick’s knowledge and retention of information is astounding, frequently impressing with his recall of events, dates, names and his mathematical ability. However, Nick’s memory can be selective, and he frequently drifts off into his own thoughts.
At ECHO, Nick branched out, and was able to access new and exciting ventures. When ECHO launched its online radio project, Radio ECHO, in 2022, Nick immediately signed up and has thrived in the team broadcasting environment. Alongside his two days at About Face and Radio ECHO, Nick has now joined the newly established Sound and Vision Hub multi-media project on Thursdays, as well as attending a range of ECHO Social & Leisure activities.
This array of opportunities has been integral in building and developing Nick’s confidence to explore social connections and interact with a wide social network, as well as providing key opportunities to improve concentration skills.
