What is Cooking with Company?
Cooking with Company is the ECHO cookery project for all the budding master chefs out there!
What would I do if I joined?
We cook lunch most weeks, which involves writing a shopping list and buying the ingredients. You’ll get to try things you’ve never had before and learn cooking skills you can use at home.
Cooking with Company offers the chance to do lots of activities focussed around cookery and supporting the local community.
What would I get from attending?
You would learn skills to restore/upcycle mainly donated pieces of furniture and timber, helping the environment by reducing landfill. Instruction is provided by experienced and skilled staff members as well as support from a team of volunteers.
You will learn:
- Cooking skills
- Budgeting
- How to help the community
- Work towards level 1 Food hygiene and First Aid certificates
Here’s what some of the current team members say about Cooking with Company:
“It’s an interesting place to meet new people, learn how to do cooking and make friends”
“We choose our own recipes from books, and we talk as a group to choose recipes.”
