What is The Priory Centre?

This is our venue for learning and social activities.  We run activities and courses which promote independence and improve daily living skills. Activities include gardening, cooking, sensory stories, arts and crafts and literacy sessions.

What would I do if I joined?

People who attend enjoy a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, gardening, cooking, sensory stories and literacy sessions.

What would I get from attending?

You would learn new skills and get to be part of a supportive community. Every day is different! Instruction is provided by experienced and skilled staff members as well as support from a team of volunteers.

You will learn:

  • Develop a range of craft and design skills
  • Be part of the Leominster community
  • Help tend the courtyard garden
  • Have fun and make friends

Here’s what some of the current team members say about The Priory Centre:

“I choose which drink I have, what I make, what topping on jacket potatoes, which vegetables to chop, I like carrots. I choose to wear gloves for cooking and art activities. I choose to do something quiet like crayoning or knitting when there is something noisy like music. I can choose where to go for walks in the wheelchair.”

“I’ve learned how to chop peppers and other crafts. I’ve improved my skills and built my confidence. I get on well with other people. I’ve learned things can be different if you put your mind to it.”

“I feel proud of the things we make and the things we cook. I feel more confident that when I started. I feel happy and relaxed.”

“They are nice people, they listen to me. If I feel worried I can tell somebody… I tell someone if I need help and they help me.”
