Leisure and Social Activities

What are Leisure and Social Activities?

Unlike day opportunities these activities are much shorter, cheaper and sessions can be individually or block booked.

What would I do if I joined?

If you want to socialise and stay fit and healthy, ECHO’s Leisure and Social activities are for you!

What would I get from attending?

The project provides activities and opportunities in three main areas: sports, social and online

You could take part in:

  • Sports such as football, tennis, badminton and walking.
  • Social events such as accessible yoga, ‘The Rendezvous’, a younger persons social activity, a Women’s Social Group, club night in a local night club and more
  • The Online Activities Programme, which provides fun social activities, both daytime and evening and also gives the opportunity for the project to try different approaches and activities with the participants, some of which have developed into regular activities in their own right.

Here’s what participants say about Leisure and Social Activities:

“I like the different places we go to in Hereford with the ‘Women’s Social’ group.
I like going to the day club, the cathedral for picnics, eating out”

“(ECHO) has started a daytime night club, that sounds great and I am looking forward
to going soon. It’s helped me organise my own trips out with friends”.

“SH:” I really enjoy Saturdays Life Skills and I like all of the social and leisure
activities.”

“I like the Saturday monthly meet ups. It’s helped me a lot, I get out more”.

“I do darts and football, it’s great to chat to people”.
