What is Studio Mirai?

An ECHO social enterprise selling upcycled and restored furniture refurbished by the activity participants as well as plants and other outdoor crafts.

New Horticulture Activities!

Our horticulture activities that we ran at Eaton Barn have now moved to Studio Mirai to add this to what we can offer at our Bridge Street workshop. You’ll get to keep fit and healthy working outdoors and learning about growing and eating good healthy foods. The site is also open to the public so you’ll also get to help customers and visitors.

You can learn:

  • How individual plants grow and how to care for each plant from sowing the seed to harvesting the final product
  • How to work safely with tools
  • Work on a variety of indoor and outdoor seasonal activities

What would I do if I joined?

People who attend enjoy a wide range of practical activities which teach them skills such as basic woodworking methods, upcycling techniques, restoration processes, decorative painting and finishing techniques

“It’s very good fun, we have a load of banter but we’re always focussed on what we do, so no accidents happen…”

“Studio Mirai is very interactive as you meet the customers who come in and out of the shop. The best furniture I worked on was an old kitchen unit that I painted white – it sold for £200 in the shop!”
