What is Studio Mirai? 

An ECHO social enterprise selling upcycled and restored furniture refurbished by the activity participants 

What would I do if I joined? 

People who attend enjoy a wide range of practical activities which teach them skills such as basic woodworking methods, upcycling techniques, restoration processes, decorative painting and finishing techniques  

What would I get from attending? 

You would learn skills to restore/upcycle mainly donated pieces of furniture and timber, helping the environment by reducing landfill. Instruction is provided by experienced and skilled staff members as well as support from a team of volunteers.   

You will learn: 

  • Basic woodworking methods 
  • Upcycling Techniques 
  • Restoration processes 
  • Decorative painting and finishing techniques

What experience/abilities are required? 

Participants will receive full instruction by skilled staff members and volunteers, who all bring something different to the project in terms of their experience and specific skill sets. 

What outcomes can be expected? 

Practical Skills/Knowledge/Learning: 

  • Sanding, painting, filling, repairing furniture 
  • Retailing and Marketing skills  
  • Customer Service Practices 
  • Project Specific Numeracy and Literacy through the shop 

What does a place cost? 

ECHO is an approved provider with Herefordshire Council and so the cost of attending a day activity such as Radio ECHO can often be included in a support plan. We accept commissioned places, direct payments or self funded attendees. The current daily cost is £60.83
