FURNITURE UPCYCLING PROJECT MANAGER
at STUDIO MIRAI
£26,654 per annum

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative leader to help us develop our furniture upcycling project, Studio Mirai based in Leominster. The person appointed will demonstrate drive and commitment and have excellent management skills to lead and guide their team as well as the practical skills to work with up to 8 participants with disabilities a day. Support within the project is from other staff and volunteers in the Studio Mirai team.
The project runs 5 days a week and participants work on donated wooden furniture, learning how to upcycle using various techniques to create desirable pieces to sell. Participants have varying abilities, experience and support needs and each person is given the time and encouragement to complete their own projects.
The role is for 37.5 hours per week. The hours to be worked will be Monday – Friday 8.45am to 4.15pm. You will be based at Studio Mirai in Leominster.
Previous experience of working with people with disabilities is essential, plus experience of upcycled crafts and/or woodworking or related practical skills.
We will consider candidates who need some training/support in limited areas, but this may come with an extended probation and reduced wage whilst they work towards the level required of the role.
ECHO is a charity mainly working with people with moderate or severe learning difficulties. We also support people with mental health needs or who have physical or sensory impairments. ECHO runs 30 different activities each week in community settings across Herefordshire.
This is an appointment of 37.5 hours per week, Annual salary is £26,654
