Help raise funds for ECHO

On Friday 25th June 2021, we will be having a street collection in Leominster to raise funds for our charity. We rely on the generosity of the public to help us continue to provide support and services for those living with disabilities in the county.

We are the leading service provider in Herefordshire, running 28 different projects as well as a range of leisure and social activities, sports and supported volunteering.

Our street collection will be held at the end of Learning Disability Awareness Week 2021. It is just one of the events we are holding as part of this week to shine a light on the importance of the work we do and how we support some of the most vulnerable people in the local community.

More details about the street collection

The street collection will run from 10am to 2pm in the town centre and we are seeking willing volunteers to come and hold a collection tin for an hour or two. It is market day with lots going on in the town and there should be a good footfall.

Every penny raised will be used by ECHO to support projects which offer better choices for local people living with learning disabilities. Although ECHO continued to run during Covid restrictions, many of our participants had to stay at home to protect themselves or someone they were living with. It was a difficult time for many who really value the friendships and socialising ECHO offers.

We are also having a stall in Corn Square alongside the regular market and there is an eight hour sponsored dance event happening at The Priory Centre, one of ECHO’s project. This is being led by Terri, one of the staff team, who came up with the idea to raise funds.
